Social Media Design Intern

About the Role

This is a hands-on junior role where you will be responsible for transforming Acrophase's ideas, work, and people into short, scroll-stopping videos. Your primary focus will be on shooting and editing reels and shorts, with the remaining time dedicated to planning, publishing, and tracking posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other channels. You will work closely with the marketing team, learn the brand voice, and grow to manage the social calendar end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Video Editing (primary)
• Edit short-form and long-form video, including cuts, pacing, transitions, colour correction, sound clean-up, and music.
• Add captions, subtitles, motion text, and simple graphics that align with Acrophase's brand style.
• Adapt video footage into versions suitable for different platforms (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) and their respective length limits.
• Maintain organized raw footage, project files, and final exports for easy retrieval.
• Reels and Short-Form Content
• Plan, script, and shoot reels, which may include behind-the-scenes, team, product, and educational content, often using a smartphone.
• Monitor trending audio, formats, and hooks, adapting them to suit the brand.
• Deliver an agreed-upon number of reels weekly with consistent quality.
• Social Media Management
• Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, and X.
• Write captions and hashtags, and schedule posts using platform tools or schedulers like Meta Business Suite or Buffer.
• Respond promptly to comments and messages, flagging sensitive items to your lead.
• Track reach, engagement, watch time, and follower growth, and submit a brief monthly report on performance.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong, hands-on video editing skills in at least one of: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut.
• A portfolio showcasing reels or short videos you have edited (Instagram, YouTube, or a drive link).
• A keen eye for pacing, framing, and hooks that capture attention within the first 3 seconds.
• Working knowledge of Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, including an understanding of their differing formats and algorithms.
• Clear written English for caption writing.
• Comfort shooting with a smartphone, with a basic understanding of lighting and audio.
• Ability to manage deadlines, accept feedback, and implement revisions quickly.
• Probation: your first 90 days. The role begins with a 3-month probation period, with a review at the end to confirm the role upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in media, visual communication, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Design skills in Canva, Photoshop, or Figma for thumbnails, carousels, and static posts.
• Experience with Meta Ads or boosting posts.
• Familiarity with analytics tools such as Meta Insights, YouTube Studio, or LinkedIn Analytics.
• Basic photography skills.
