Job Title: Summer 2027 Internship - Special Investigations Unit

About the Role

This is an in-office internship located in West Bend, WI.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct investigative and intelligence research into suspected insurance fraud involving auto, property, casualty, workers’ compensation, and other lines of business.
• Collaborate with SIU investigative staff, internal stakeholders, and external partners to evaluate and investigate suspicious insurance transactions (claims, underwriting, policy, etc.).
• Identify red flags, gather facts, and collect evidence.
• Support fraud detection programs.
• Communicate investigative research findings to SIU, Claims, and other internal stakeholders.
• Review claims, policy, underwriting, and other transactions to identify fraud indicators.
• Analyze facts, spot patterns, and uncover inconsistencies.
• Evaluate evidence and help build investigative case files.
• Partner with SIU investigators, Claims professionals, and internal business partners.
• Work with external resources and investigative databases to support ongoing inquiries.
• Document findings and communicate investigative insights.
• Support fraud detection initiatives and special projects designed to strengthen fraud prevention efforts.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Curious, analytical, and naturally investigative.
• Strong research and critical-thinking skills.
• Comfortable reviewing information and identifying patterns or anomalies.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Interested in criminal justice, risk management, insurance, business, data analytics, intelligence analysis, or a related field.
