Entry-Level Direct Support Professional

About the Role

Action Behavior Centers (ABC) is hiring caring individuals to work one-on-one with children with autism, helping them build communication, social, and independent skills. This is a Full-Time position with predictable daytime hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children ages 18 months to 8 years using play-based ABA therapy.
• Follow personalized treatment plans and collect simple session data.
• Help children learn through play, movement, reading, games, and hands-on activities.
• Stay active and engaged throughout therapy sessions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
• Collaborate with a supportive team.
• Occasionally help support a nearby ABC clinic if additional coverage is needed.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• At least 18 years old.
• Bachelor's Degree required. Proof of degree (diploma or official transcript) must be provided during the hiring process.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Comfortable sitting, standing, crouching, and getting on/off the floor frequently.
• Able to maintain an active pace while working with young children.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to complete paid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 20 days of hire.

Qualifications

• No experience necessary.
• Paid training and full coverage for your RBT certification provided.
• Experience that is a plus (not required): Childcare experience (nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, camp counselor, tutor), mental health roles (QMHP, behavioral health technician), paraprofessionals, caregivers, life skills assistants, Psychology, Child Development, or Health Sciences degrees.

Schedule & Location

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Optional Saturdays available.

Compensation

• Bachelor’s Degree: $20–$25.50 per hour
• Master’s Degree: $20–$28 per hour
• First raise after earning RBT certification.
