Phlebotomist

About the Role

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Christiansburg, VA. This role involves performing blood collections, specimen processing, data entry, and providing customer service in a Patient Service Center or Client office environment.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program OR 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour
• Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
