Web Developer Intern

About the Role

Expatiate Communications is a leader in special education, redefining program design and delivery through data and technology to improve academic outcomes and equitable access. This unpaid internship provides educational and professional development, accommodating academic schedules with hands-on training. It is limited to a maximum of three months and does not guarantee future employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing web applications using C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Svelte.
• Support database development with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and MongoDB.
• Help build and test RESTful APIs using Postman and Swagger.
• Learn authentication, version control, and deployment using JWT, Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Azure.
• Convert Figma designs into responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and collaborate with the development team.
• Write clean, maintainable code while assisting with debugging and testing.
• Learn modern software development tools, best practices, and cloud technologies through hands-on projects.
• Capability to work fast with AI while ensuring enterprise-standard code quality and adherence to internal standards.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Interest in learning full-stack web development.
• Familiarity with SQL databases is preferred.
• Exposure to Git or version control systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to a collaborative development environment.
• Must pass a satisfactory Live Scan background check and provide TB clearance (costs are the intern's responsibility).
