About the Role
The Legal Intern will support the Legal Team, with a primary focus on litigation and dispute resolution matters. The role involves legal research, drafting, case management, liaison with external counsel, court-related documentation, and monitoring of legal developments. The intern will gain practical exposure to litigation strategy, court procedures, and in-house legal operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, judicial precedents, and case laws relevant to ongoing litigation matters.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing pleadings, affidavits, applications, notices, legal correspondence, and written submissions.
- Prepare case summaries, legal briefs, hearing notes, and research memoranda for the legal team.
- Maintain and update litigation trackers, hearing calendars, and case status reports.
- Coordinate with external advocates, law firms, courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities for filings and procedural requirements.
- Compile, review, index, paginate, and organize documents required for court filings and hearings.
- Assist in evidence compilation and document management for ongoing disputes and litigation matters.
- Attend hearings, meetings with counsel, and internal legal discussions, and prepare meeting minutes and action points.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and judicial pronouncements that may impact the organization.
- Maintain organized records of case files, legal documents, and correspondence while ensuring confidentiality.
- Provide administrative and analytical support on litigation, arbitration, and dispute-resolution matters.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Good drafting and communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Basic understanding of civil, commercial, and corporate litigation processes
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed LL.B. degree or an integrated law program.
- Prior internship experience in litigation, dispute resolution, or a law firm will be an added advantage.
