System Development Engineer, Fulfillment Technologies Support

Platform Engineering & Services AFT’s Platform Engineering & Services team leverages data, process improvement, and innovative technologies to provide comprehensive engineering excellence services/solutions across AFT’s product portfolios.

About the Role

The Platform Engineering & Support Services is looking for a DevOps engineer who will join the team which supports all software applications responsible for shipment, item availability, customer promises, shipment optimization and other functions related to fulfillment services process. Your problem-resolving skill will benefit customers directly, ensuring Amazon is able to meet all its commitments to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues.
• Developing monitoring solutions.
• Performing software maintenance and configuration.
• Implementing fixes for internally developed code (e.g., Perl, Ruby, C/C++, JAVA).
• Performing SQL queries.
• Updating, tracking, and resolving technical challenges.
• Building and developing tools to automate daily operational activities.
• Working alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects.
• Updating/enhancing current software.
• Automation of support processes and documentation of systems.
• Collaborating with other engineers to deploy software through large automated systems and operationally support newly deployed software.
• Seeking out new approaches to automate fixes for operational issues.
• Using AWS services to solve design problems.
• Engaging other internal teams to integrate applications.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
• Perl, Ruby, C/C++, JAVA.
• SQL.
• AWS services.
