SLP Specialist INTL, Worldwide Operations Security

About the Role

The primary objective of the Security & Loss Prevention Specialist is to ensure the protection of people & assets of Amazon’s AMZL sites in accordance with global Security guidelines and Policies. This role is cross-functional and requires deep collaboration and influencing ability with stakeholders from business and corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Security Manager in day-to-day activities, planning, sourcing, and executing processes and procedures.
• Ensure and maintain high quality and timely support to the Operations of the organization, working together with the Security Team.
• Conduct physical security rounds.
• Monitor CCTV systems.
• Respond to immediate security concerns.
• Perform regular physical security audits.
• Investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events.
• Collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews during investigations.
• Execute established procedures to address security incidents.
• Implement approved solutions for identified vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to the development of mitigating measures for identified process vulnerabilities.
• Maintain the physical integrity of sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of systems.
• Maintain system functionality jointly with subject matter experts and external suppliers.
• Interact daily with external security service providers to ensure high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience.
• Act as a point of contact for multiple internal and external departments (e.g., legal, HR, security service providers, local law enforcement).
• Act as a subject matter expert in Security and Loss Prevention-related matters.
• Deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams.
• Liaise with various stakeholders on policy and procedure across all management levels.

About The Team

The Security and Loss Prevention team, sitting within the Worldwide Operations Security organization, supports Amazon's business targets and brand by protecting against relevant threats and managing security and loss prevention risks that could:

• Put associates and customers under jeopardy.
• Disrupt the continuity of business operations.
• Inflict damage to assets.
• Have adverse impact on brand reputation.

The team secures the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promotes security during business conversations. This is achieved by preventing security and loss prevention risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, intervening in unfolding incidents to minimize negative impact, and thoroughly investigating security-related incidents to identify and remove root causes, preventing reoccurrence.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, compliance, or similar
• Experience with physical security systems
• Experience with investigation techniques
• Experience with management of contract security officers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in an industry role
• Experience in retail, warehouse, or manufacturing (preferred)
• Experience working with data and analytics (preferred)
• Valid and active driver's license (preferred)
