Software Engineer, Apprentice

About the Role

The Global Technology division manages critical systems and platforms that form the backbone of the company's retail, commercial, and institutional businesses. We develop and deploy leading-edge technologies in areas such as mobile and online banking, payments processing, technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, risk and capital management, and enterprise data management.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
• Design solutions with maintainability, ease of integration, and testing built-in from the outset.
• Gather and translate internal and external client requirements into technical design specifications and business process re-engineering.
• Code solutions, perform unit tests, and ensure successful integration into internal banking applications and systems with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces.
• Participate in and contribute to delivery/release events (CI/CD), including branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, and release notes.
• Document models and findings, and support data collation and processing for development and delivery.
• Perform proof of concept to implement new ideas or mitigate risk.
• Ensure execution and delivery meet technology expectations in terms of functionality, quality, performance, reliability, and timelines.
• Work with global development teams and business partners across APAC, EMEA & AMRS to translate business/functional requirements for banking, trading, and markets.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve incidents and issues.

Requirements & Tech Stack

Foundational Skills:

• Hands-on engagement in full software lifecycle activities: requirements analysis, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design patterns that support complex applications.
• Fundamental knowledge and understanding of programming languages, data visualization tools, application frameworks, distributed systems, and databases.
• Basic proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C#/.NET, C++, Python.
• Experience in Agile methodology, Process Improvement, Excel, JIRA.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, including various work assignments and changing priorities.
• Strong influencing skills with the ability to influence both vertically and horizontally.
• Assertiveness, initiative, strong work ethic, and a team attitude.
• Distinguished written and oral communication skills.
• High level of intellectual curiosity, a drive for excellence, and a commitment to achieving sustainable results.
• Strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

• Eligible Final year students from the Class of 2027 ONLY.
• Degree Type: B.Tech, B.E.
• Major Specialization: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems.
• CGPA: 70% in the last semester OR CGPA of 7 on a scale of 10 in the last semester with no pending backlogs.

• Students with Indian citizenship and residing in India.
• Students should be open for any roles they are finally selected for in the interview/evaluation process.
• Students should be open to join any of our 5 locations: MUMBAI, CHENNAI, GURUGRAM, HYDERABAD, GIFT CITY. Location preference will not be given.
• Students must be open to work in any shifts, including night shifts, rotational shifts, as per business or process requirements.
