Role Overview
As a Med Lab Technician, you will perform essential procedures on blood and other body fluids using manual techniques and advanced laboratory instruments. You will work under the supervision of laboratory technologists and leaders to ensure accurate and timely results that directly support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform select procedures on blood and other body fluids using manual techniques or laboratory instruments.
- Utilize information systems to ensure accurate and efficient processing of specimens.
- Conduct phlebotomy as needed, maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Follow defined protocols and work under the supervision of laboratory technologists and leaders.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
- Alternatively, successful completion of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree with at least 5 college courses from specified sciences or Completion of a military 50-60 week technician program meeting CLIA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- MLT certification from ASCP or NCA.
