Validation Engineer

About the Role

UST is looking for a Validation Engineer. This role involves a mix of techno-managerial responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Extensive experience in execution and people management.
• Ability to understand technical aspects of the semiconductor domain.
• Coordinate with clients to understand delivery milestones and execution requirements (space, resources, tools).
• Find solutions for any blockades.
• Capable of handling small to medium-sized teams.
• Test planning, monitoring, and reporting with suitable dashboards.
• High-level understanding of Platform HW ingredients for post-silicon.
• Ability to understand Windows driver validation and execute test cases.
• Experience in installation and configuration of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7, 8, 10).
• Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to analyze and debug issues.
• 100% adherence to delivery schedules.
• Align with PM & AM strategy.
• Knowledge of various subsystems in the PC.
• Identify gaps/opportunities in execution/delivery and report to the program manager.
• Reproduction of failures reported in required platform configurations.
• Defect management.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on development/debug experience of system BIOS, UEFI framework and architecture, USB, Multimedia, Driver, Camera, Disk, Desktop, Power management, Flash Memory, memory Management, NAND.
• Analyze system Power states and Device states.
• Knowledge in Test strategies.
• Understanding of Software testing concepts.
• Basic knowledge in Python scripting language.
• Attend client meetings and understand requirements before testing.
• Able to find valid bugs.
• Use tools like WinDBG, Debug, PoolMon, Performance monitor.
• Establish strong leadership and educate the team to understand and fulfill requirements.
• Debug kernel installation/KD and capture trace.
• Debug test failures and analyze root cause.
• Capture crash dumps and analyze.
• Support the team with technical solutioning direction and mentorship.
• Manage billing, quality, and time.
• Improve productivity through suitable automation and analytical approaches.
• Support and promote UST values.
• Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
