SOC Trainee

About the Role

Tracelay is seeking a SOC Trainee for a full-time remote role. This position offers an opportunity to support security analysts in monitoring, triaging, and investigating alerts from Tracelay's Agentic SOC and Managed XDR platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Support security analysts in monitoring, triaging, and investigating alerts.
• Review security event logs and analyze suspicious activities.
• Assist in documenting incidents and escalations under senior guidance.
• Perform initial threat assessments and gather relevant evidence.
• Contribute to incident reports and knowledge base documentation.
• Participate in training sessions, simulations, and bootcamp-style exercises.
• Collaborate with cross-functional security and engineering teams.
• Follow established playbooks and procedures.
• Continuously learn emerging tools, tactics, and techniques.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including threat types, attack vectors, and basic security controls.
• Skills in log analysis and monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR/XDR platforms).
• Ability to interpret security events.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A learning mindset and adaptability.
• Interest in AI-driven security operations, threat hunting, and emerging technologies like VR-based SOC monitoring.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to follow structured playbooks.
• High ethical standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Relevant education or certifications in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or related fields (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent coursework) would be beneficial.
