About the Role
The AWS RAPP (Route 53 and Perimeter Protection) ADC team is seeking highly motivated engineers to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems for U.S. Government agencies. This role involves engineering and operating large-scale distributed systems within air-gapped regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services offer customers a 100% uptime SLA through software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation.
- Minimize human involvement in system operations through automation, including infrastructure as code and operator tools.
- Manage and monitor systems in air-gapped regions.
- Build software-based solutions to improve system management and monitoring.
- Take a defined project and break down the work to help define milestones and feedback mechanisms.
- Identify when implementations are not highly available or have defects, and investigate systemic patterns.
- Resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner.

- Programming with at least one modern language: C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or above, or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring)
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Ability to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language.
- Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems.
- Knowledge of complex distributed systems.
