About the Role
The AP Biology Mentor is a full-time remote role responsible for guiding high school students through AP Biology concepts, exam preparation, and coursework.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and conducting interactive online tutoring sessions.
- Explaining complex biological processes in accessible ways.
- Helping learners develop effective study strategies.
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Adjusting lesson plans to address individual learning needs.
- Maintaining accurate session records.
- Collaborating with the EdifyChamps team on best practices.
- Staying current with AP Biology curriculum and exam guidelines.
Requirements & Tech Stack

- Strong time-management and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with virtual classroom tools and learning platforms.
Qualifications
- Strong subject-matter expertise in Biology, with in-depth knowledge of AP Biology curriculum and exam structure.
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly, using examples, visual aids, and real-world applications.
- Experience in online teaching or tutoring.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills to support and motivate diverse learners.
- Proven skills in lesson planning, student assessment, and adapting teaching methods to individual learning styles.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Education, or a related field.
- Prior AP teaching or tutoring experience is highly beneficial.
