About the Role

QuantumCrafters Studio Private Limited is hiring a Network Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of enterprise networks and data center infrastructure. Reporting to the NOC Shift Supervisor, you will work on network monitoring, incident resolution, device configuration, software upgrades, and infrastructure projects across customer environments. You will collaborate with distributed engineers, customers, and technology vendors to maintain reliable connectivity and resolve technical issues. This role requires practical networking knowledge, a structured approach to troubleshooting, and clear communication throughout incidents and planned changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network operations: Perform routine monitoring, preventive maintenance, and health checks across routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related infrastructure.
  • Configuration and implementation: Install, configure, integrate, and troubleshoot network hardware and software across multiple vendor platforms.
  • Patching and upgrades: Plan and execute network device firmware updates, security patches, and software upgrades, including configuration backups, pre-change checks, rollback planning, and post-change validation.
  • Incident response: Investigate service outages, connectivity failures, and performance issues. Restore services within agreed SLAs and escalate issues when required.
  • Ticket ownership: Keep assigned tickets current with troubleshooting details, actions taken, and next steps. Provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Root cause analysis: Work with senior engineers and vendor support teams to identify underlying faults, implement corrective actions, and reduce recurring incidents.
  • Performance monitoring: Review device logs, monitoring alerts, interface statistics, and traffic information to identify faults, capacity concerns, and performance degradation.
  • Infrastructure projects: Support the provisioning and implementation of traditional and converged data center networks, enterprise LAN/WAN connectivity, and network security solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, operational procedures, and change documentation.
  • Design input: Interpret network designs and contribute operational recommendations that support reliability, security, performance, and business requirements.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise routers, switches, and network security devices.
  • Experience supporting platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, HP, or comparable enterprise networking products.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise WAN connectivity, including Cisco ASR and ISR routers.
  • A sound understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and network security fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with SNMP, NetFlow, ping, traceroute, packet capture, and other network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Understanding of server connectivity, network interface configuration, and data center networking requirements.
  • Ability to interpret network topology diagrams, technical designs, and implementation documentation.
  • Understanding of intrusion detection and prevention technologies.
  • Ability to investigate issues systematically, interpret technical evidence, and document findings clearly.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto firewalls, particularly intrusion prevention, security policies, traffic analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in a NOC, managed services, enterprise infrastructure, or data center operations environment.
  • Experience coordinating network changes, incident escalations, and technical troubleshooting with customers and external vendors.

What We Look For

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of assigned work, follows through on technical issues, and keeps customers informed. You should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with other engineers when an issue requires wider expertise. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.
