About the Role
Focus on SMF Test Engineer role.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on system testing experience on one or more of the following products:
- 5G Core: SMF
- 4G EPC: PGW, SAEGW, SGW
- Proven experience deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, and validating packet core network functions in lab or production environments.
- Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot failures, and drive issues through resolution with R&D teams.
- Strong focus on test automation from Day 1.
- Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to improve quality and productivity.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong working knowledge of 4G EPC and 5G Core Packet Core networks.
- Working experience in Kubernetes-based containerized environments.
- Experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark/tcpdump and telecom test tools for network function validation.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of end-to-end call flows, session establishment, mobility procedures, charging, policy control and subscriber management across LTE, NSA, and SA networks.
- Thorough understanding of 3GPP specifications covering:
- 5G Core Architecture and Procedures (TS 23.501, TS 23.502)
- EPC Architecture and Procedures (TS 23.401, TS 23.402)
- Good understanding of the following protocols:
- Protocols: PFCP, GTPv2-C, Diameter, SCTP, HTTP/2 and REST APIs
