Mechanical Engineer I, Table Games
AGS - American Gaming Systems
About the Role
AGS is a leading supplier of innovative games and systems for the global gaming industry. Our mission is to deliver superior casino gaming products that elevate the player’s experience while maximizing operational value for our customers. The Mechanical Engineer I supports the AGS Table Games shuffler development team. Working under the guidance of the Principal Mechanical Engineer, this role contributes to bringing our new line of card shuffler products through the production engineering phases, from working prototype to production-ready products within AGS operations. This is a growth position intended to build depth in production engineering within a regulated hardware environment. The Mechanical Engineer I will also assist with the day-to-day mechanical engineering needs of the table games portfolio, including shufflers and table progressives, and will contribute to the mechanical foundation for upcoming AGS shuffler platforms.
Reports to the Vice President of Table Games Engineering, with daily technical direction from the Principal Mechanical Engineer.
Position based in Duluth, GA.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the detailed mechanical design and drafting of parts and assemblies for AGS shuffler products.
- Assist in the production engineering transition of new card shuffler products from prototype to production-ready designs.
- Create and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models following AGS modeling, drafting, and revision control practices.
- Contribute to design for manufacturability and design for service reviews by preparing models, drawings, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of mechanical bills of materials, part numbers, and drawing packages for release.
- Support engineering change requests and change orders by gathering affected part data, updating drawings, and maintaining accurate change records.
- Assist with supplier communication by preparing drawing packages, part specifications, and quotation request documentation.
- Support incoming part inspection and first article review by recording measurements and flagging discrepancies.
- Build, assemble, and modify prototype and pilot units, and assist in troubleshooting fit, form, and function issues.
- Execute mechanical test and validation procedures, including reliability and life cycle testing, and record and summarize results.
- Contribute to the creation of assembly work instructions, service documentation, and renderings.
- Model and verify the fit and form of OEM components, and help maintain digital models of purchased mechanical and electrical parts.
- Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support for the broader table games portfolio, including shufflers and table progressives.
