About the Role

The Member role at Teach For India in Thrissur is a full-time, on-site position focused on advancing the organization’s mission in local schools and communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting classroom teaching
• Coordinating with school staff
• Planning and facilitating student-centered activities
• Assisting with program implementation
• Collecting and organizing data on student progress
• Participating in training and reflection sessions
• Contributing to community outreach and engagement efforts
• Collaborating closely with Fellows, staff members, and local stakeholders

Qualifications

• Ability to build strong relationships with students, educators, and community members, and to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Strong communication skills, including clear spoken and written English, and the ability to present ideas in a structured, accessible manner.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records of activities and outcomes.
• Demonstrated commitment to educational equity, social impact, or community development, preferably through prior volunteer work or professional experience.
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate dynamic school environments and respond constructively to challenges.
• Comfort with basic digital tools (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets) and willingness to learn new platforms used by Teach For India.
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in education, social work, or youth programs is an advantage.
• Willingness to be based on-site in Thrissur and to adhere to Teach For India’s code of conduct, safeguarding practices, and inclusivity standards.
