About the Role
Humanize is looking for a curious, organised, and proactive External Opportunities and Partnerships Associate to help identify and manage relevant publications, podcasts, events, and speaking opportunities for the founders and leaders they work with. The role will involve continuous opportunity research, database and pipeline management, outreach and pitching, follow-ups, relationship coordination, and staying closely informed about the platforms and conversations relevant to their clients.
Key Responsibilities
-
Opportunity Identification & Database Management
-
Continuously identify relevant publications, podcasts, conferences, events, and speaking opportunities for clients across different industries.
-
Research both leadership-focused and domain-specific platforms across global, national, and regional markets.
-
Understand the audience, themes, formats, and relevance of different opportunities before recommending them.
-
Build, maintain, and regularly update structured databases of publications, podcasts, events, contacts, submission requirements, deadlines, and other relevant information.
-
Track editorial calendars, upcoming events, application windows, and lead times so that outreach can begin sufficiently in advance.
-
End-to-End Pitch & Opportunity Management
-
Manage multiple publication, podcast, and event opportunities simultaneously across different clients.
-
Coordinate with the content and strategy teams to prepare relevant pitches, speaker proposals, article ideas, bios, abstracts, and other supporting material.
-
Customise outreach based on the platform, client, and opportunity rather than using generic pitches.
-
Manage the complete process from identifying and shortlisting an opportunity through outreach, submission, coordination, and next steps.
-
Maintain clear visibility into where every opportunity stands across clients and platforms.
-
Follow-ups & Status Reporting
-
Follow up consistently on previously submitted pitches, applications, and outreach.
-
Track responses, pending actions, deadlines, and next steps across all active opportunities.
-
Maintain accurate statuses so that the team can easily understand what has been pitched, what is in progress, and what requires action.
-
Provide periodic updates on active outreach, upcoming opportunities, responses, and outcomes.
-
Ensure important timelines and follow-ups are not missed.
-
Relationship Coordination
-
Support the team in building and maintaining relationships with editors, journalists, podcast hosts and producers, event organisers, programme teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
-
Maintain organised records of contacts, previous conversations, and collaborations.
-
Coordinate communication and follow-ups where required.
-
Help maintain continuity in these relationships beyond a single pitch or opportunity.
-
Identify opportunities to reconnect with or further develop existing relationships.
-
The person may not always be the primary relationship owner, but should help ensure that relationships are managed thoughtfully and consistently.
-
Industry & Platform Intelligence
-
Regularly read relevant publications, newsletters, and industry updates.
-
Listen to podcasts and follow conversations, recurring themes, guests, and formats relevant to the clients.
-
Follow major conferences and events to understand their themes, speakers, and evolving areas of interest.
-
Stay aware of new publications, podcasts, events, and platforms as they emerge.
-
Build familiarity with what different editors, hosts, and organisers are looking for so that future opportunity identification becomes more informed.
-
Over time, the person should develop a stronger understanding of where each client should be present and which conversations they could meaningfully contribute to.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong online research skills and the ability to find information beyond obvious search results.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Strong organisational and follow-through skills.
- Comfort working with Google Sheets and maintaining detailed databases and trackers.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, opportunities, and deadlines simultaneously.

- Familiarity with LinkedIn and other professional research platforms.
- Basic understanding of publications, podcasts, conferences, speaking opportunities, and media ecosystems.
- Ability to understand a client's background and determine whether an opportunity is genuinely relevant to them.
- Familiarity with CRM, project-management, media-monitoring, or outreach tools would be useful.
- Understanding of personal branding, executive positioning, or thought leadership would be an advantage.
Qualifications
- Graduate in Communications, Business, PR, Marketing, or a similar discipline.
