Backend Developer Intern at PairNova
About the Role
PairNova is an AI-powered dating platform for India’s Gen-Z, built around meaningful connections instead of endless swiping. We are gearing up for launch and seek a backend intern to help build the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining APIs that power matching, chat, profiles, and memberships.
- Working with our AWS infrastructure (compute, storage, databases).
- Developing backend logic for AI features and compatibility scoring.
- Implementing in-app purchase and subscription verification for Android and iOS.
- Improving performance, security, and reliability as we scale toward launch.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Solid fundamentals in Node.js / Python (or your preferred stack).
- Comfortable with REST APIs and databases (PostgreSQL / MongoDB / DynamoDB).
- Basic familiarity with AWS or any cloud platform.
- Proficiency with Git, writing clean code, and testing.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with real-time systems (WebSockets).
- Experience with auth.
- Experience with AI/LLM APIs.
