About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site Certified Medical Coder role based in Ahmedabad.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and clinical documentation to assign accurate and compliant medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
- Verify documentation.
- Apply appropriate coding guidelines.
- Ensure that all coding supports correct billing and reimbursement.
- Work closely with healthcare providers and administrative staff to clarify clinical information.
- Resolve coding discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and payer requirements.
- Assist in internal audits.
- Contribute to process improvements.
- Support training initiatives related to coding accuracy and compliance.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding/billing software.
- Prior experience in a hospital or clinic setting is beneficial.
Qualifications
- Strong Medical Coding experience, including accurate assignment of codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management principles.
- Relevant credentials such as RHIT or equivalent certification in health information or coding.
- Familiarity with coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to work with confidential health information responsibly.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative teams on-site in Ahmedabad.
- Diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related healthcare field.
