User Experience (UX) Design Internship

About the Role

This internship follows an in-person model, with interns based at the Stellantis Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates. The internship program is scheduled from May through August 2027.

Department Details

As a User Experience Design Intern, you will:

• Understand trends, consumer research, and brand identity.
• Create effective and engaging experiences and design solutions.
• Communicate and sell design solutions to senior management and colleagues.
• Assist with design projects and creative initiatives.
• Provide interactive user interface expertise and support from concept to production.
• Create graphical assets using standard 2D and 3D designer tools.
• Research and utilize emerging technologies.
• Interface with Design Office management and employees.
• Participate in a variety of relevant activities and assignments.
• Gain practical experience working with engineers and developers.
• Collaborate on diverse programs and projects.
• Receive mentorship from on-site designers overseeing daily activities.

Portfolio Requirements

• A portfolio in PDF format must be submitted with your application.
• Applications will not be processed without meeting this requirement.
• Your portfolio should represent your skills as they pertain to the position.
• Present your most current work first, in descending order of most current to oldest.
• When appropriate, provide a brief description of your contributions to submitted work.
• Personal work is welcome, but should be separated from professional work.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in User Experience, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Product Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Game Design, Film, or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Willingness to relocate for the internship.
• Completion of freshman year or higher at an accredited college or university by Spring 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Candidates must submit a current portfolio (specifically highlighting automotive design if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of sophomore year or higher at an accredited university by the Summer of 2027.
• Exceptional design intuition, with strong presentation and design communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Alias, Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint and/or similar programs.
• Ability to work both individually and as a team member in a creative and diverse environment.
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and new technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must exhibit strong leadership characteristics.
• Creative, curious, and innovative.
