About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacy Technician role based in Brunswick, OH. AvaCare Pharmacy is a trusted Long-Term Care pharmacy focused on improving patient outcomes through innovative technology and expert clinical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in processing prescriptions.
- Prepare and package medications.
- Ensure accurate labeling and documentation for residents in long-term care settings.
- Receive and enter medication orders.
- Manage inventory and stock rotation.
- Support medication delivery workflows.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Communicate with facility staff and healthcare providers.
- Respond to inquiries and help resolve medication-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort working with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with prescription processing and medication preparation, including accurate data entry and labeling.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and workflows in a retail or long-term care pharmacy.
- Skills in inventory control, including stock management, ordering, and rotation.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- State-specific Pharmacy Technician certification or registration (or eligibility to obtain).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Prior long-term care pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to regulatory and safety standards.
