About the Role
HCA Healthcare is committed to the growth and development of future nurses. This program offers sponsorship for Canadian and Mexico students meeting qualifications with a TN Visa to EB3.
Note: This role is for New Graduates only. Applicants not local to the US and not recently graduated from a Nursing program who do not meet sponsorship qualifications should not apply.
The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long, paid program designed to provide hands-on experience, develop clinical and critical thinking skills, and support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. Residents will be supported by nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and scope of practice.
- Collaborate with medical providers and care team members to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models.
- Serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.
- Assess patient condition during admission and shifts, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor for therapeutic response.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating and resolving needs proactively.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Other certifications may be required during employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
- No previous experience needed.
- Some travel may be needed for training.
Sponsorship & Visa
- Sponsorship is provided for individuals from Mexico and Canada on TN Visas.
- HCA Healthcare will file for an EB3 VISA.
