About the Role

We are seeking a Python Backend and AI/LLM Engineering Intern for a full-time, 3-month paid internship. You will work on backend systems, AI integrations, and scalable APIs for consumer applications. This role is an entry into a fast-moving, product-focused startup team for self-driven, hands-on individuals excited about AI.

As an intern, you will:

• Assist in developing and maintaining backend systems.
• Integrate AI models.
• Optimize data structures and algorithms for real-time performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement backend solutions.
• Enhance AI-driven services.
• Debug and optimize code.
• Contribute to data preprocessing pipelines.
• Support the deployment of machine learning models into production environments.

You will get to:

• Design and build backend APIs using FastAPI or Django.
• Integrate LLM features, vector databases, and RAG pipelines.
• Deploy features to production using cloud platforms.
• Work on live applications powering real customer experiences.

A full-time role may be offered immediately after the internship based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and manage scalable Python backend systems.
• Develop and document RESTful APIs for AI-powered features.
• Integrate and work with LLMs and AI pipelines (e.g., RAG, embeddings).
• Work with cloud infra (AWS, GCP, Azure) to host and manage services.
• Use vector databases and tools like Pinecone or FAISS for retrieval.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and iterate on code.
• Participate in sprint planning and fast product cycles using tools like Cursor.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with backend development frameworks such as Flask or Django.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and machine learning algorithms.
• Experience with libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with data preprocessing techniques.
• Familiarity with database management.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail.
• A growth mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Pursuing or completing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud basics (deployment, hosting, scaling).
• Experience with cloud services like AWS or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Hands-on experience with:
• LLMs and AI integrations (e.g., OpenAI, HuggingFace).
• Vector embeddings & semantic search.
• SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong debugging skills.
• Basics of DevOps and Cloud is a must.
• Experience deploying apps/web apps to production is a plus.

Bonus Points (Not Mandatory, But Appreciated)

• Experience with:
• RAG pipelines, FAISS, Pinecone, ChromaDB.
• Cloud DevOps or CI/CD flows.
• Code-gen tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf).
• Frontend knowledge or full-stack work.
• MLOps or model fine-tuning experience.

Internship Details

• Duration: 3-6 months.
• Type: Full-time.
• Stipend: ₹5k-10k/month, paid at the end of the internship.
• Start Date: Immediate.
• Location: Remote.
• Eligibility: Must have completed college or be in the final year.
