About the Role
Prism Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help customers get designs to work when built, addressing issues such as tolerances that can't be held, enclosures that won't assemble, and parts that fail at scale. The role involves taking products from design to manufacturing-ready for companies in EV, battery, robotics, medical device, and data center industries. This is a hands-on role, not a back-office CAD position.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and reviewing sheet metal parts, battery enclosures, busbars, and precision assemblies.
- Running DFM reviews on customer designs and suggesting changes to cut cost and improve manufacturability.
- Preparing 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and BOMs with proper GD&T.
- Collaborating with the shop floor and vendors from prototype through production.
- Communicating directly with customer engineering teams.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong skills in SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360.
- Hands-on understanding of sheet metal, CNC machining, and fabrication processes.
- Comfort with tolerancing, material selection, and understanding shop floor realities.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0–1 years of experience.
- Bonus: Experience with EV/battery packs, electrical enclosures, or server rack hardware.
