Position Summary
The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Cell, Developmental, & Integrative Biology, is in search of a Researcher Associate to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently conduct more complex studies and analyses, contributing to the advancement of research projects.
- Design experiments.
- Interpret data.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to develop and refine research protocols.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a portion of the lab's mouse colony, including basic animal husbandry (setting up and checking matings, genotyping and weaning mice).
- Perform basic cell and molecular biology including cell culture and plasmid cloning.
- Perform general technician duties: dish washing, autoclaving, maintaining lab stocks and inventories.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position may involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor's degree in a related field OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience required.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences
- Previous experience with handling mice is preferred.
- Degree in a biomedical science preferred.

Hourly Range: $19.80 - $32.15
