About the Role
This is an Underwriting Internship position with a focus on Financial Lines at MSIG USA. The internship offers hands-on experience and exposure to Financial Lines insurance products.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment and Analysis: Assist in evaluating financial statements, credit reports, and industry trends to assess the risk profiles of potential clients.
- Underwriting Assistance: Support underwriting for new and renewal business in Financial Lines insurance, helping determine coverage terms and conditions.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze reports and industry data to understand how financial insights influence underwriting strategies.
- Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with teams in claims, legal, and finance to understand underwriting challenges and solutions.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends to build a career in underwriting.
Program Overview
- Program Dates: June 7, 2026 - August 13, 2027
- Induction: 3 days, June 7 - June 9, 2027 (location: Warren, NJ)
- Schedule: Hybrid, with a minimum of 4 days in the office per week
- Compensation: Hourly rate of $25.00
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for understanding financial data.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
