Manager Trainee in Training

About the Role

The Manager Trainee position is a full-time, entry-level role designed to prepare individuals for leadership within 84 Lumber. It provides hands-on training across all aspects of store operations with the objective of promotion to a management position.

Key Responsibilities

• Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment.
• Oversee material/supply chain flow, stock, and merchandising.
• Create material estimates for building projects.
• Safely handle materials and equipment.
• Manage payroll, invoicing, inventory, and financial analysis.
• Enhance and refine Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Process payroll, invoicing, inventory, and use POS Systems.
• Interpret and analyze common financial reports.
• Read blueprints and create material lists.
• Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Availability: Full-time schedule (48+ hours/week, overtime included).
• Microsoft Office Suite (previous experience preferred).
• Forklift Operation and Certification.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; dedication and willingness to learn are essential.
• Must complete the assigned learning plan and course of study within the outlined timeframe.
• Willingness to relocate for a management position.
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, assisting customers in all weather conditions.
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 80 pounds), and other physical activities.
• Ability to work around machinery and airborne particles.

Note: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
