About the Role

Sims Metal is a global leader in metal recycling, playing a role in the circular economy. This is an hourly position with a rate of $29.53.

• Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with overtime as required, including weekends and holidays.
• Union Position: Teamsters Local 853

Key Responsibilities

• Moving, sorting, stacking, palletizing, or feeding material onto the conveyor belt (where applicable).
• Performing and maintaining general housekeeping.
• Operating a forklift, sweeper, or other equipment (may perform).
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift Certification
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (e.g., uniforms, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hard hat).

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to handle, or feel, and reach; climb and balance.
• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Occasionally required to sit, squat, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds (with assistance).
• Visual requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
