About the Role

Systems Engineering is a cross-functional technical discipline focusing on an approach, mindset, and process. It considers both business and technical requirements of customers to deliver a quality product that meets user needs. This discipline implements a robust process for designing, building, and optimizing systems. This includes identifying and quantifying system requirements, creating alternative system design concepts, conducting design trade-off studies, selecting and implementing the best designs, and verifying proper integration and execution of the design. This process spans from concept through production to operation. It influences the quality of one's own work and the work of others on the team.

Performs operational/technical standard tasks, usually subject to instructions and work flows. May have latitude to change sequence and complete tasks/duties based on changing work situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs component and product integration, addressing activities involving multiple components and products for maximum performance and operability.
• Manages product and system requirements, specifications, and data flow.
• Conducts validation and verification activities for the entire product/system, including system-level testing.
• Defines product requirements for module/component/subcontractor and partner teams.
• Manages the interface between components and execution organizations.
• Drives CTQ/Risk trades within component design teams.
• Manages overall product configuration and the configuration control system.
• Extends knowledge of one's own technical discipline to implement policies/strategies. May involve support roles with specialized technical knowledge; ongoing acquisition of higher-level knowledge and skills.
• Possesses a foundational understanding of key business drivers, using this understanding to perform one's own work. Has good knowledge of how one's team's work integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• May possess some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Solves problems in situations requiring good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults with more senior team members on issues outside defined instructions/parameters.
• Requires good interpersonal skills and may be necessary to lead a junior team. Develops strong customer relationships for customer-facing roles and serves as the interface between customers and GE Vernova. Explains technical information to others.
