Data QA Associate

About The Role

YipitData is seeking a Data QA Associate to join our team in India. This role focuses on the SpendHound SaaS spend management platform, ensuring the accuracy and quality of financial and accounting data. You will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable business expense insights, investigating data issues, and improving data quality processes. This is a fully remote role.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate accounting data exported from ERP systems, including vendor, invoice, bill, payment, and transaction records.
• Apply accounting knowledge to understand different bookkeeping patterns and determine how transactions should be reflected in expense data.
• Review and correct vendor and spend category mappings.
• Identify and resolve duplicated, incomplete, or inconsistent records.
• Investigate data quality issues and collaborate with data and engineering teams to improve data processing rules.
• Ensure that the final data is accurate and reliable for business expense analysis.
• Ensure compliance with company data security and confidentiality policies.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree or above. Majors in Accounting, Finance, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field are preferred.
• 0–2 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience, including relevant internship experience.
• OR 0–2 years of experience as a data or quality assurance analyst in finance data.
• Experience with accounting processes such as transaction categorization, invoice processing, expense review, account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger entries.
• Hands-on experience using at least one mainstream ERP, accounting, or expense management system, such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Ramp, Xero, or a similar system.
• Familiarity with accounting standards, the ability to distinguish the company’s accounting categories, and an understanding of company accounting records.
• Experience managing multiple processes in parallel.
• Basic data analysis skills and familiarity with Excel, SQL, or Python are a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with a remote team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Working Hours

• 8 am - 5 pm IST
• Expect some overlap with Chinese or U.S. work hours.
