Phlebotomy Technician, part-time evening

Part-time, Evening Shift

20 hours per week: 3pm-11:30pm

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist/Central Processing Tech for their Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. This role offers an opportunity to make a difference by applying current phlebotomy experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples.
• Correctly identify patients.
• Transport specimens.
• Perform all related clerical and computer functions.
• Perform the manual tasks involved with registering, ordering, proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of specimens for laboratory testing from patients of all ages.
• Utilize relevant computer programs and perform data entry.
• Serve as the central communication of the laboratory for all incoming requests.
• Maintain quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories and the reporting of results received.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
• Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.
