Social Media Marketing Intern

About the Role

BalansCo is seeking an individual with a deep understanding of the internet to actively grow our social presence through entertaining, relatable, useful, and culturally relevant content. The focus is on creating engaging posts rather than solely promoting products.

Key Responsibilities

• Find and execute content ideas daily across Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and other relevant platforms.
• Identify trends, memes, conversations, news, and cultural moments before they become stale.
• Create and experiment with reels, skits, public interactions, story-led content, utility content, founder content, and behind-the-scenes (BTS).
• Assist in scripting, shooting, and editing quick social-first videos.
• Identify creators, pages, and communities for collaborations and content partnerships.
• Experiment with famejacking, trendjacking, memejacking, moment marketing, comment hijacking, search-led content, and other distribution strategies.
• Track content performance (views, shares, saves, comments, follows) and replicate successful formats.
• Participate in shoots and be comfortable appearing on camera occasionally.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Chronically online in a useful way.
• Understanding of why content goes viral versus underperforming.
• Strong instincts for Instagram/Reels, memes, pop culture, and internet behavior.
• Ability to write hooks and scripts that sound natural.
• Skill in shooting decent content on a phone.
• Proficiency with tools like CapCut, Premiere, and Canva.
• Proactive in generating and executing content ideas.

Qualifications

• Bonus experience: Growing a page, making reels, running a meme page, creating college content, or working with creators.

Location: Bengaluru

Stipend: ₹15,000 to ₹20,000/month

Duration: 3 months, with potential for full-time growth.
