Elevator Technician

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Elevator Technician role based in Mumbai for Schindler India Private Limited. The role involves performing routine preventive maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting faults, responding to service calls, and carrying out repairs on elevator systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing routine preventive maintenance on elevators, including inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of parts.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.
• Responding to service calls and carrying out repairs in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
• Performing testing after maintenance or repair.
• Documenting work performed.
• Communicating clearly with supervisors, customers, and team members.
• May include participation in scheduled shifts, emergency call-outs, and collaborative work on complex installations or refurbishments.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Elevator Maintenance
• General Maintenance & Repair of vertical transportation systems
• Technical knowledge of Elevators, including components, safety mechanisms, and control systems
• Troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues
• Solid understanding of Electricity, electrical circuits, and safe work practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and maintenance documentation
• Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment
• Physical ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and handle tools and equipment
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Relevant technical diploma or certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent vocational training).
• Previous experience in elevator or lift maintenance is preferred but not mandatory for suitably qualified candidates.
