Master Carpenter

About the Role

RB Carpenter Work is a Chennai-based carpentry and woodworking service provider. The Master Carpenter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead carpentry projects from layout to final installation.
• Perform framing and structural work.
• Execute finish carpentry for doors, windows, cabinets, and custom fixtures.
• Read and interpret drawings.
• Plan materials and measurements.
• Supervise junior carpenters.
• Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
• Use hand tools and power tools.
• Construct and install wooden structures.
• Troubleshoot site issues.
• Coordinate with clients and site supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Uphold company standards for craftsmanship and professionalism.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Hand Tools: Saws, chisels, planes, measuring tools.
• Power Tools: Drills, circular saws, routers, sanders.

Qualifications

• Strong core Carpentry skills, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wooden structures and fixtures.
• Proficiency with Hand Tools for precise, detailed work.
• Experience with Power Tools, with a focus on safety.
• Advanced Framing abilities for structural work, partitions, and frameworks.
• Expertise in Finish Carpentry for doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, and custom woodwork with high attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated experience leading small teams or mentoring junior carpenters on-site.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and local building standards.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, standing, and working in various site conditions.
• Previous experience as a senior or master-level carpenter.
• Vocational training or certification in carpentry is an advantage.
