Textile Designer

About the Role

Texxco Apparels is seeking a full-time, on-site Textile Designer for its Bengaluru Rural location. The role involves developing original textile prints, graphics, and embroidery concepts for shirt production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original textile prints, graphics, and embroidery concepts aligned with client briefs and brand identity.
• Ensure designs are suitable for shirt production at scale.
• Create repeat patterns and placement designs.
• Prepare technical artwork files for production.
• Collaborate with merchandising, sampling, and production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality.
• Research trends in textiles, colors, and styles.
• Maintain a library of design references.
• Adapt concepts for formal, casual, and custom shirt programs.
• Review samples and provide corrections.
• Support continuous improvement in design execution and consistency.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong skills in Textile Prints and Textiles, with an understanding of fabric behavior, color application, and print techniques for shirts.
• Solid capabilities in Graphics and Graphic Design, including proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and creating production-ready artwork.
• Practical experience in Embroidery design, including digitizing artwork, selecting appropriate stitches, and working with embroidery vendors or in-house units.
• Knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes, particularly for woven shirts, and the ability to align designs with pattern cutting, stitching, and finishing requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, color sense, and layout skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet production timelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in a garment or textile manufacturing environment is preferred.
