Full Stack Developer

About the Role

This role is for a Full Stack Developer at Barclays, located in Pune, IN. The purpose is to design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues. The role involves spearheading the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence by building and managing robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
• Participation in code reviews and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations and contributing to the organization’s technology communities.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices.
• Performing prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, driving continuous improvement.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Core Java, Multi-Threading, and Spring, Spring Boot.
• Working knowledge of API development using REST / SOAP based services.
• Spring MVC, Spring Security, JPA, Hibernate.
• Knowledge of HTTP protocol and web services.
• General server side development and deployment.
• Unix hands on for simple scripts, checking logs/processes etc.
• Strong knowledge on SQL (Oracle / PostgreSql / Mysql).
• Basic knowledge of deployment with Cloud platform such as Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.
• Experience working in an Agile development methodology environment (preferably Scrum/Kanban).
• Basic experience with ReactJS / Angular / typescript.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Jest, React Testing Library).
• Utilizing tools such as Gitlab, Vscode, IntelliJ/Eclipse, and JIRA.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred) with familiarity in containerization, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

Highly Valued Skills

• Experience with python-based development.
• Basic knowledge with large language models and agentic AI patterns — tool use, RAG, prompt engineering, memory management, and guardrails.
• Experience working in cloud environments, with hands-on exposure to AI tools such as AWS Bedrock, Claude Code or similar.
• Understanding of API integrations, data pipelines, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience building systems in trading, banking and/or financial organization.
