Mechanical Engineering Intern

About the Role

Qnion Robotics is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for an on-site internship in Bhosari, Pune. The internship duration is for 3 to 6 months, with both full-time and part-time options available. Part-time hours will be agreed upon during the interview. Candidates who can join immediately are preferred. The monthly stipend starts from Rs 10,000 and is determined by the skills brought and revised with performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and commission a multi-axis positioning stage for vision system testing.
• Build the robot cell, including the mounting base, camera mount, and guarding.
• Design gripper fingers, adapter plates, and brackets in SolidWorks, and create their manufacturing drawings.
• Build a small conveyor for moving-part trials.
• Fit, drill, tap, and assemble machined and printed parts, verifying against drawings.
• Liaise with fabrication shops and suppliers for parts procurement and manufacturing.
• Route cables and mount sensors in collaboration with the electronics team.
• Assist in running robot test cycles and recording results.
• Ensure completion of tasks by meeting written conditions and demonstrating functionality.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• SolidWorks: Proficiency in parts, assemblies, and drawings.
• Hands-on workshop experience: drilling, tapping, fitting, assembly.
• Experience with measuring tools: vernier caliper and micrometer.
• Ability to read and create engineering drawings with tolerances.
• Adherence to written procedures and documentation of deviations.
• Availability on-site in Bhosari, Pune, Monday to Saturday.

• Experience on student build teams (e.g., BAJA, Formula Student, Robocon).

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical, production, or mechatronics engineering (completed or pursuing).
