Spring 2027 Digital and Social Media Internship

About the Role

The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) is seeking a Digital and Social Media Intern for Spring 2027. This role supports social media content creation and digital communications, translating policy research into online content.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting social media captions
• Clipping and editing short-form videos (Reels/Shorts)
• Building and publishing carousels and graphics
• Supporting day-to-day management of FDD's social media channels

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience with Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube content formats is strongly preferred.
• Basic skills in tools like Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Premiere are preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word.
• Basic Excel skills.
• Must be able to commit to a minimum of 22 hours per week.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.2 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
• Relevant course of study and completed coursework in one or more of the following fields: Digital Design, Marketing, Branding, International Relations, Security Studies, History, Communications, Journalism, International Economics, Political Science, Computer Science, and/or a relevant STEM field.
• An interest in international affairs and national security is a plus.
