Job Title: Social Media & Marketing Intern
About Us
We are Liberty Tax, a trusted tax preparation firm focused on taking the stress out of tax season for families, freelancers, and small businesses. We are looking for a creative, motivated Social Media & Marketing Intern to take the reins of our online presence, help us build brand awareness, and turn our social channels into a core driver for our business. In exchange, we are committed to giving you real, hands-on ownership of live campaigns so you walk away with real metrics, creative assets, and a standout piece for your portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Plan, shoot, edit, and schedule short-form videos (Reels, TikToks) and static/graphic posts across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and [LinkedIn/X].
- Social Strategy: Help develop and maintain a weekly/monthly content calendar.
- Community Engagement: Respond to comments, direct messages, and start conversations with our target audience to build an active community.
- Growth & Experimentation: Test out new trends, hooks, and content formats, tracking what drives actual reach and engagement.
- Performance Tracking: Review basic analytics (views, engagement rate, follower growth) and share insights on what's working.
- Portfolio-Worthy Projects: Own at least one major end-to-end creative campaign (e.g., a product launch sequence, a UGC-style push, or a viral content sprint) designed specifically to showcase in your career portfolio.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Platform Savvy: Comfortable using Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant social channels natively (you understand pacing, trends, and aesthetics).
- Creative Flair: Basic skills in mobile video editing (CapCut, Canva, etc.) and writing punchy, brand-aligned captions.
- Proactive Mindset: Someone who loves pitching ideas, isn't afraid to experiment, and can work independently with clear weekly guidance.
- Reliability & Organization: Good communication and the ability to keep a consistent posting schedule.
Qualifications
- Current Student or Recent Graduate majoring in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or a related field (or self-taught with a great eye for content).
What’s In It For You
- Real Ownership: Your work won't just sit in a folder—it will be live, facing real customers and building our actual brand.
- Portfolio Pieces: Full permission and support to showcase every graphic, video, and campaign you run in your digital portfolio or resume.
- Mentorship: Direct feedback sessions with the founder/lead team on how strategy, content, and small-business growth actually work.
- Flexibility & Perks: [Mention remote flexibility, school credit eligibility, future paid opportunities, or product perks if applicable].
