About the Role
The New York State Legislative Ethics Commission seeks a full-time Associate Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Executive Director/Counsel and Deputy Director/Counsel in providing guidance, assistance, and training relating to ethics laws to members of the legislature and their staff.
- Conducting legal research and preparing memos on relevant areas of Public Officers Law.
- Reviewing and examining statutory annual financial disclosure filings.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Admitted to the New York State Bar.
- Strong research skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive materials.
- Must maintain political neutrality and are not permitted to engage in political activity.
Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually based on experience.
