About the Role

We are looking for a Management Trainee – Planning who is analytical, proactive, and eager to build a career in Retail Planning, Merchandise Planning, Demand Forecasting, and Inventory Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Planning team in demand forecasting, assortment planning, and inventory allocation across stores.
• Analyze sales trends, stock levels, sell-through, and product performance to support business decisions.
• Coordinate with Merchandising, Buying, Warehouse, and Store Operations teams to ensure optimum stock availability.
• Monitor sales performance, inventory movement, product lifecycle, and replenishment requirements.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports and dashboards for planning and management review.
• Support the team in category performance analysis, buying cycle planning, and assortment optimization.
• Track stock availability and identify slow-moving, fast-moving, and non-performing products.
• Assist in identifying gaps in inventory and recommend appropriate replenishment or allocation actions.
• Support vendor coordination and follow up on product availability and delivery timelines.
• Participate in business reviews and planning discussions to improve product mix, inventory productivity, and store performance.
• Work closely with senior team members to understand retail planning processes and contribute to ongoing business improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate planning data and ensure timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong analytical and numerical ability with an interest in retail business.
• Good command of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, and basic data analysis.
• Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, or other analytics tools will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of data interpretation, reporting, and trend analysis.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with multiple teams and manage tasks within deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and logical-thinking ability.
• High learning orientation, ownership, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Any Graduate/Postgraduate in:

• Statistics
• Any other relevant discipline
• 0–2 years of experience; freshers with strong analytical skills are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with internship/project experience in retail planning, analytics, MIS, supply chain, or business analysis will be preferred.
