About Pockyt

Pockyt is building the AI-native infrastructure for global money movement. We give merchants a single platform to accept payments from anywhere, send money globally, and manage funds through Global Virtual Accounts and stablecoins. Our mission is to make global commerce frictionless, creating the operating system for how value moves in an agentic, borderless economy.

The Role

We're hiring a Junior Compliance Analyst to support our compliance function. You will handle high-volume, detail-heavy work essential for our compliance program across cross-border payments and merchant acquiring programs. This role is ideal for someone early in their compliance career who is meticulous and seeks hands-on experience in BSA/AML and merchant acquiring compliance. You will also contribute to the automation of workflows by documenting repetitive tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Onboarding file prep: Collect and chase merchant KYB/KYC documents, check applications for completeness, verify basic entity and UBO details against registries, and flag gaps.
  • Merchant acquiring support: Assist in underwriting new card-acquiring merchants by verifying business model and MCC, reviewing merchant websites for prohibited/restricted products and policies, and checking principals against MATCH and internal decline lists. Escalate items outside the risk appetite with a clear summary.
  • First-level screening: Run and clear obvious false-positive sanctions, PEP, and adverse media hits. Document rationale and escalate ambiguous items.
  • L1 transaction monitoring triage: Process ThetaRay alerts, close clear-cut false positives, and route others with relevant transaction history.
  • Acquiring risk monitoring: Track merchant chargeback and fraud ratios against card network thresholds, flag merchants trending toward program limits, and pull necessary transaction and dispute data.
  • RFI coordination: Draft and send routine RFIs to merchants, track responses and deadlines, and follow up on overdue items.
  • Periodic review support: Pull refreshed documents, re-run screening, and assemble review files.
  • Evidence and record-keeping: Maintain case logs, organize evidence packages in SharePoint, and keep trackers accurate for audits.
  • Data pulls and reporting: Pull alert, case, onboarding, and chargeback metrics for various reviews and requests.
  • Process notes: Maintain a list of repetitive steps and friction points to inform automation efforts.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • 0–2 years in compliance, risk, KYC/onboarding, fraud operations, or a related role at a fintech, MSB, bank, or payments company, or a relevant internship with strong interest in financial crimes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfort with high-volume, repetitive work and accuracy.
  • Strong organization skills to manage queues, track deadlines, and maintain records.
  • Good judgment for escalations and clear case summarization.
  • Clear, professional written communication skills.
  • AI fluency or eagerness to build it; comfortable using tools like Claude for document review and summarization.
  • Curiosity about cross-border payments, stablecoins, and compliance practices.

Bonus Points

  • CAMS (or working toward it), ACAMS membership, or comparable training.
  • Exposure to sanctions screening or transaction monitoring tools (ThetaRay, Hummingbird, Unit21, ComplyAdvantage, or similar).
  • Experience with KYB document review for business entities, especially cross-border or multi-entity structures.
  • Exposure to merchant underwriting, card acquiring, or payment facilitator (PayFac) onboarding, including familiarity with Visa/Mastercard network rules, MCCs, MATCH, or chargeback/fraud monitoring programs (Visa VAMP, Mastercard ECM/EFM).
  • Mandarin, Spanish, or Portuguese language skills.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills.
