About the Role

Nelnet Financial Services (NFS) is seeking an intern to join the NFS Investments Team, with a focus on structured finance, specialty finance investments, and asset management. The hire will assist with a wide range of tasks related to the investment process including risk assessment, underwriting and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide investment analysis assistance across various specialty finance asset classes including consumer, auto, small business, home improvement and other loan types
• Collaborate internally with employees and departments to accomplish work projects
• Maintain and update comparable deal tracker
• Complete special projects as assigned by management
• Manage multiple conflicting priorities & consistently meet deadlines
• Perform industry research and draft research reports

Requirements & Tech Stack

• PC skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of accounting practice and procedures.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Relevant coursework in finance, accounting, and business.
• Prior internship in finance or accounting preferred.
