About the Role
Siemens EDA is seeking a software development engineer for the Hardware Assisted Verification (HAV) division. This role involves developing and manufacturing emulators for functional verification of System-on-Chip circuit designs. The individual will be part of an emulator compiler specialist team, contributing to the compiler software for Siemens EDA's next-generation emulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve the compiler component responsible for analyzing customer designs to map them onto emulator resources.
- Perform analysis of clock and data networks.
- Execute partitioning, placing, and synthesis of logic to support the mapping of customer designs onto the emulator.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new functionality for the compiler.
- Support existing compiler functionality.
- Write system-level tests using software simulation.
- Develop new testing methods.
- Interact with other software teams and Veloce hardware teams in an international, multi-site development environment.
- Work on-site from the Burlington, MA office.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Primary development language: C++
- Operating System: Linux
- Experience with algorithm and data structure design.
- Understanding of gate level digital logic design.
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented development environment and work independently.
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 0 to 3 years of industry software development experience in developing large C++ applications as part of a team.
Desired Skills
- Experience in EDA software development, especially in timing analysis, synthesis, design partition, or placement.
- Software engineering skills with experience in use of Unix/Linux OS.
- Demonstrated experience with software testing methods.
- Experience in use of Hardware description language (Verilog/Vhdl).
- Experience in use of software simulation tools (e.g., Modelsim).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python or SH script).
