About the Role
The Medical Coder role at ITOC Global is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru.
Key Responsibilities
- Review clinical documentation and assign accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services in accordance with established coding guidelines and payer requirements.
- Validate documentation, ensuring coding accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to resolve coding queries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding standards, and regulatory changes.
- Meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Support audit activities.
- Contribute to process improvements.
- Help maintain compliance with organizational and industry standards.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Coding Experience and Medical Coding skills with the ability to accurately assign codes for a range of clinical specialties.
- Knowledge of Health Information Management practices, including documentation standards and data integrity requirements.
- Strong understanding of Medical Terminology.
- Ability to work with electronic health records and coding software.
- Ability to meet productivity and quality targets.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- RHIT or equivalent credential in health information or medical coding is preferred.
- Diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Life Sciences, Nursing, or a related healthcare field is beneficial.
