About the Role
Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern - Manufacturing Planner for Summer, 2027. This position is based in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Planning manager and team with analysis and other procedural improvements.
- Take an active part in the execution of development projects.
- Develop and integrate documentation processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Provide project status updates as required.
- Work under close supervision of the Planning Manager.
- Develop skills and knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with production planning software (SAP) is welcomed.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Current Junior or Senior at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite from May 2027 through August 2027.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret production data and provide actionable insights.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with complex data and ensure precision in reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
