Junior Data Scientist

About the Role

This individual will support organizational and mission goals within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role requires hands-on technical expertise and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights using Tableau.
• Leading and reviewing data cleaning scripts using tools such as R and Python.
• Maintain and enhance dashboards, analytics solutions, and reporting tools used in operational and strategic decision-making.
• Balance competing priorities, including supporting quick turn and ad hoc requests.
• Focus on client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "Public Trust".
• Bachelors Degree.
• Experience with R and Tableau.

Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with hiring or operational data.
• Strong UI/UX capabilities for dashboard development.
• Experience with financial data.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Ability to gather requirements and present to clients with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration.
