About the Role

The role is the front door to the revenue engine, identifying and engaging cloud infrastructure and SaaS buying teams, generating interest, and converting outbound and inbound signals into qualified sales meetings. The team sells into technical and economic buyers — DevOps leads, platform engineers, and VP-level stakeholders. This is a quota-carrying role with a clear path to account executive promotion. BDRs are measured on pipeline contribution and work directly with account executives and marketing to build territory plans, test messaging, and shape how the company enters new accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute outbound prospecting sequences across phone, email, and LinkedIn against named accounts in assigned territories.
  • Research target accounts to identify buying committees and tailor outreach to specific pain points in cloud cost, observability, or security.
  • Qualify inbound demo requests and free-tier signups, and route qualified opportunities to account executives within agreed SLAs.
  • Book and confirm discovery meetings weekly against explicit pipeline and activity targets.
  • Maintain accurate, complete records of all activity, notes, and next steps in Salesforce.
  • Use conversation intelligence and sales engagement tools (Outreach, Gong) to iterate on messaging and improve connect and conversion rates.
  • Partner with account executives and marketing on account selection, campaign feedback, and territory strategy.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of B2B sales, sales development, or customer-facing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to run high-volume outreach while keeping quality and personalization high.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; can explain technical products clearly to both engineers and executives.
  • Competitive, coachable, and resilient — motivated by measurable goals and structured feedback.
  • Hands-on familiarity with a CRM (Salesforce preferred) and sales engagement tools.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Bonus: exposure to cloud/SaaS or developer-tool products, familiarity with concepts like APIs, Kubernetes, or infrastructure-as-code, or experience building territory plans.
